Jan is blessed to be Mother to two amazing kids—the lively Leslie Sinclair and the awesome James Sinclair, and wife to the wonderful Roy Kolodny. She is also an accomplished graphic designer and photographer. During the seven years of her daughter’s aggressive melanoma recurrences, treatments, and surgeries, Jan became, as well, nurse, scheduler, taxi driver, cancer researcher, manager of meds and appointments, cheerleader, and chief comforter. An avid supporter of folks living life in the presence of cancer, she has served as a board member and volunteer for cancer organizations. She has also championed numerous cancer survivors and generously shared her story of many years as mother of one cancer survivor and wife of another. Jan is a passionate golfer and world traveler.

Despite all the surgeries, treatments, and physical limitations that cancer put in her path, Leslie finished high school, went to college (and got excellent grades and received her Bachelor's Degree from University of California Irvine (posthumously), traveled to many U.S. cities and foreign countries, gave numerous lectures on melanoma, and managed to meet Matt Damon. What brought her the greatest joy, however, was her love for and from family and many true friends.
